Headphones

Sound by Sweden is the company behind our headphones. We are the ones who develop, design, and sell the products. SUPRA or SUPRA Headphones is the actual brand name of the headphones.

Our background comes from the Swedish audio company SUPRA Cables, founded in 1976 and known worldwide for its high-quality hi-fi cables. Building on that experience in audio engineering and material development, we later began developing headphones under the SUPRA Headphones brand.

Our product names are structured to quickly give an idea of which series the earphones belong to and what type of earphones they are.

First comes the name of the series. We have three main series:

• ZERO – our most affordable series
• NERO – the mid-range with more features and higher performance
• NITRO – our premium series with the most advanced features

After the series name, there may be a suffix that shows what type of earphones they are:

• no suffix = wired earphones
• –X = wireless earphones (Bluetooth)
• –TX = true wireless earphones (fully wireless in-ear)

In some cases there is also a number or “2nd Generation” after the name. This means that the model is an updated or improved version of a previous product.

Examples:

• NERO – wired earphones in our NERO series
• NITRO-X – wireless over-ear headphones in the NITRO premium series
• NERO-TX2 – true wireless earphones in the NERO series (upgraded model)

In short, our product names are designed to make it easy to understand which series the earphones belong to and what type of earphones they are.

Both SUPRA NERO-TX2 and SUPRA NERO-TX PRO 2nd Generation are our True Wireless in-ear headphones with features such as active noise cancelling, long battery life and an extremely compact form factor. The differences lie mainly in features and construction.

SUPRA NERO-TX PRO 2nd Generation is our more advanced model in terms of sound and noise cancelling. It has slightly longer battery life and a better IP rating. It also comes with our own Comfort Foam Tips, which are memory foam ear tips that mold to your ear and can provide both better comfort and improved passive
noise isolation.

SUPRA NERO-TX2, on the other hand, is developed with a focus on robustness and everyday flexibility. It is the world’s first True Wireless earphone to be triple-certified according to military standards, which makes it extra durable. It also has Multipoint, allowing you to be connected to two devices at the same time – for example phone and computer – and easily switch between them.

Yes, there is a difference between in-ear earphones and true wireless earphones, even though the terms are sometimes used together.

In-ear earphones describe the design of the earphones themselves. They are placed directly in the ear canal, unlike over-ear headphones which sit over the ears. In-ear earphones are available both as wired and wireless models.

True wireless earphones, on the other hand, are a type of wireless earphones with no cables at all – neither between the earbuds nor to the device. They usually connect via Bluetooth and often come with a charging case.
This means that most true wireless earphones are also in-ear, but not all in-ear earphones are true wireless. Some in-ear models, for example, have a cable between the earbuds or a cable to the phone or computer.
